Authorised Translations

The price of an authorised translation (sometimes also called an "official translation") is based on the number of words in the original document (€0.15/word + €13.10/document for the stamp of an authorised translator + VAT, where applicable). The lead time is usually around two to three weekdays per document (of around one A4 sheet), starting from the weekday following the day on which the order was placed. You will get an exact price and delivery date if you send the text(s) to be translated as scanned copies by e-mail to be reviewed. You will receive an invoice with the translation.

An authorised translation can be done in one of two ways: (a) using an electronic copy of the original text (a scanned copy of the diploma/certificate) or (b) using the original hard copy document as the source text. If you choose (a), the source text in Finnish will be attached to the translation and if you choose (b), the final result will be the text in English only. Please note that if you choose (b), you will have to send the original document by mail to be translated.

An authorised translation is always a paper copy that will be delivered to you by regular mail. If you like, you can also get a scanned copy by e-mail without an extra charge, but an electronic copy is not considered an official document. The price includes postage in Finland and mailing expenses. If you want your translation to be mailed as a regular letter to another country, a postage and processing surcharge of €5 (+ VAT if applicable) will be added to the price. If you want the translation (and your original document) to be sent to you as a registered letter to an address in Finland, a surcharge of €15 (+ VAT if applicable) will be added, and if you want a registered letter to an address outside of Finland, a surcharge of €25 (+ VAT if applicable) will be added.
